Analysis of a Website Using a Created Rubric

I know the title is a bit of a mouthful, so I will explain it a bit better here. We have to find a website or source that is linked to a project that we are working on (Australian Memorials) and then mark it against the rubric that we had to create to mark our own blog.

So first here is the link to the website: http://nga.gov.au/AboriginalMemorial/home.cfm

Now this is our Rubric, and since I am not the greatest in the technology departement this is a photo I took of the rubric because it didn't save to the computer.

I will give a step by step breakdown of the website through the categories in the photo above!

  1. Organisation: I love how they have set up this webpage, it has a general introduction and then clickable links that bring you to further details within the webpage- 4/4
  2. Quality of Information: It is a government run website so I can only hope that it is fairly accurate, although I would have liked to see some source links to find out further information and not just the names of people who helped them get the information. It seems to me that it is good quality information though. -3.5/4
  3. Cooperative Work: Well I am sure a team of people put this webpage together but I have no way of telling that besides the fact that the website was really good. N/A or 4/4
  4. Content: The webpage has indicated what its purpose is and followed through with that while keeping the same continuity. 4/4
  5. Spelling and Grammar: I have found no mistakes. 4/4
  6. References: Since there was no citing or anything on the webpage I give it a 0/3
Drum roll please...... 19.5/23 = 84.8 %

I see that as a pretty respectable mark, but could have been remedied with simple referencing!

For anyone who reads this feel free to scroll through the website and then leave some comments about how you think it adds up in comparison to the rubric!!

(PS I have no idea on how to make the rubric bigger so if anyone does please let me know?)

  1. You can make your picture of the rubric bigger by editing the blog, and holding your mouse over the picture. Once you do this a menu you pop up and show you the size the image is being projected, as well as giving you choices of other sizes you can have it as, which you simply click and save. By clicking preview you can also check how big the image is going to be before you publish it!
